Equine Facilitated Learning for Young People

Our Approach
Working together, we view a horse’s behaviour as meaningful information rather than something to be corrected. Horses offer honest, real-time feedback, which helps young people begin to understand their own emotions, reactions, and behaviours. Through this process, we gently support children and young people to recognise patterns, make positive changes, and build skills that improve their wellbeing and life chances.

Important to Know
No prior experience with horses is needed. There is no riding involved — all therapeutic work takes place safely from the ground.
How We Work
We combine equine-assisted growth and learning with therapeutic guidance that is tailored to each individual child or young person.
Our work is:
-
Trauma-informed – We recognise survival responses and meet them with understanding and compassion
-
Strengths-based – We build on each person’s existing resilience, abilities, and potential
-
Relational – We prioritise safety, consistency, and trust in every interaction
-
Interactive – We engage both mind and body through movement, connection with nature, and real-life experiences
Our Aim
We support young people to feel seen, heard, and capable again. Our aim is to nurture more confident, resilient, emotionally stable, and happier children and young adults.
